Teaching and learning Punjabi Language in Arabic/Urdu script poses a damaging blow to the Punjabi language itself as well as the learner’s proficiency in Urdu Language, simultaneously.

The reasons are obvious and logical. Using a script which is not meant for the particular language/Punjabi and which cannot write a particular language /Punjabi will affect the natural phonics of that language and cause bad effects on mind of the learners as they have to make their minds roam to catch the natural phonics while reading and writing . It becomes painful to them, and it will, not only, induce rejection for their language but will also affect cognitive faculty of their mind.

Moreover, it will inflict double damage,. The children’s are taught Urdu Language in educational institutions. The vocal organs once twisted in one way for Punjabi language while reading and writing the letters/ characters and twisting vocal organs in other way again for reading and writing Urdu and this thing going repetitively is bound to cause irreparable damage to the Punjabi, as well as Urdu Language, itself, mind faculty and damage to the language proficiency of people in both the languages, simultaneously – a very serious blow.

In the light of here above given reasons, logic and rationality , concerned authorities need to introduce Learning of Punjabi Language in a script original/ meant for it – the “ Saanjo” , so that the two Languages Punjabi and Urdu can be saved from damage to them, both , simultaneously because of practice of using a Urdu Script for Punjabi language ( A worked form of Arabic/Persian script established for Urdu )
